Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption

Trixie and Cheerio are two of four kittens that were bought on the street in NY by one of our dedicated rescuers, from a woman who had them in a bucket. Only a couple weeks old (if that), they would have died shortly if they weren't saved.

Trixie and Cheerio love to cuddle and play with their humans. They play enthusiastically with wand toys and then come back for some pets and cuddles, purring and making biscuits. Trixie and Cheerio are both very active. They love to run and play, climb and wrestle with each other. They can amuse themselves, carrying toys around the house, dropping and chasing them as if you threw it for them. They love their kitty tunnel and sometimes sleep in it. Trixie loves to climb onto the top of the cat tree and meow at her human, then she will jump onto their back or shoulder and want snuggles. It is the sweetest thing, she is such a great little snuggle bunny. Cheerio loves to climb and jump into your arms and carry around spring toys and catnip toys and play keep away with her siblings. They are so playful and adorable.

Trixie and Cheerio both have beautiful tabby faces and soulful eyes, sweet meows, beautiful spotted bellies and the softest fur. They both look so alike it's tough to tell them apart. They are super interactive and lovable, they will certainly steal your heart in no time! Trixie and Cheerio can be slightly shy with new people, but they warm up very quickly. Once they meet their new family they will be loyal forever and seek them out all the time. Both Cheerio and Trixie are able to be picked up and held but like a lot of kittens or cats if they start to squirm they want to get down and play. They are both cuddle bugs and sweet and are so much fun to be around.

Trixie and Cheerio are self assured kittens, and we expect that they will adjust pretty quickly. However, like any animal they should be given time to adjust at their own pace. They would be well suited for an active household that will adore two beautiful, loyal, playful, sweet kittens. Trixie and Cheerio can be shy with other cats initially, but soon seek the opportunity to meet other kitties. They would do well in a house with another playful cat. They would also be fine being the only 2 cats in the house, having each other to play with will keep them very busy. Trixie and Cheerio haven’t met dogs, but we find that kittens do well with dogs that like and are exposed to kittens and cats. Introductions should be gradual. Trixie and Cheerio have not been around children but all kitty boundaries need to be respected. They are still kittens so they are teething through 6 months, so school aged children are recommended.
