Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption

Eenie and Meenie are an approximately three-month-old brother-sister duo rescued from a dirty and freezing cold industrial basement in the Bronx, New York City right after a big January snow storm. There were sadly no other surviving siblings. They are approximately 3 months old, extremely extremely friendly, and equal parts playful and cuddly.

Eenie (boy) is a white and grey tabby who is a bundle of energy and super affectionate. He loves to play and run around, and is a big climber. If he can, he will hop up on your shoulder, curl up like a parrot, and nuzzle you with his forehead. He really loves to play with wands, strings, and anything that lets him jump up and down! He also absolutely loves to be picked up and the second you do, he will curl up in the crook of your elbow or on your chest and start purring. He loves to loaf on his blanket. He is extremely curious and wants to explore everything! He is also definitely a lap kitten - if there is a lap, he will sit!

Meenie (girl) is a beautiful little tortie with an adorable caramel splotch on her forehead and a caramel colored chest bib. She is more demure and reserved than her brother, but is extremely sweet and absolutely loves to be pet. She also loves to curl up on your chest and will purr contentedly and nuzzle you when she does. Her favorite toys seem to be crunchies and ping pong balls, and she also enjoys toy mice and batting at the broom - she's a little huntress! Meenie is very food motivated - she loves loves loves her treats!

Eenie and Meenie will greet you at the door, follow you around, and boop noses with you. They would love to sit on the sofa with you in the evenings and snuggle. Both Eenie and Meenie also love water - they have been enjoying the fountain in their foster home and also love to splish-splash in their water bowl.

Eenie and Meenie are quite bonded - they sleep and snuggle together all the time, and they also play and wrestle. When they first arrived, Meenie was a little bit shy, and all she wanted to do was cuddle up with her little brother, who was a great little protector for her.

Eenie and Meenie are curious and friendly with other cats. While we don't know for sure how they would do with a dog, but they are generally quite fearless and friendly so a mild-mannered dog who interacts well with cats would likely be no problem. Similarly, we think that they would do well with children.

Meenie is spayed, FIV/FELV negative, and vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP. Eenie will be neutered and receive his vaccines on Monday, February 23 - after which they will be ready to go home! The kittens are both litter-box trained.

Overall, they are a scrumptious, perfect little duo!
