DESCRIPTION

Meet Big Frank, the handsome senior kitty. Big Frank was originally taken in by a good Samaritan who found him as a stray in rough condition. He was described as very friendly and likes to follow people like their little shadow. He did well with a cat-savvy dog but wasn’t a fan of the resident cats in the home. He used his litterbox reliably. He had access to a Catio enclosure in the home and enjoyed sunbathing and spending time in that safe enclosure. Upon his arrival to the Shelter, clinic staff identified that Big Frank was in need of some medical TLC with our clinic team. He spent time in a foster home where he received his medical treatment and we got to know him a bit more. His foster reports: “This puma headed cat is really just a snuggle bunny. He will come up on your lap and stretch his arms way up your chest like a hug. This is of course an indication that chin and head scratches should commence. Toys with bells are preferred. He prefers dry food over wet, but enjoys wet treats and drinks well. He does like to eat people food and I have had to be strict with him. He easily takes pills in pill pockets and does not struggle when I put him in a crate to go to the vet. Such a gentleman. We are all in love with Big Frank and you will be too.” Big Frank will need an adopter who is comfortable bring their kitty to the vet more frequently than the average to keep them in tip top shape. Our clinic team can chat with your more about that when you come to meet him (and likely fall in love!). Big Frank’s adoption fee is reduced by $20 thanks to Shelley’s Angels – a fund that draws adopter’s eyes towards often overlooked senior cats in Shelters waiting for the Purrrfect home. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
