Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption

Meet Pluto, a nine-year-old sweet and affectionate cat who is free to a good home and looking for a loving place to land. Due to an unexpected move, his owner is no longer able to keep him, and based on the advice of a veterinary technician, it is best that Pluto not travel by plane. For his health and well-being, we are hoping to rehome him locally with a caring family or person who can give him the stability and affection he deserves.

Pluto started life as a feral kitten but was taken in young and has since lived comfortably with parrots, large dogs, other cats, and, later, a chihuahua sister. He has so much love to give and forms strong bonds with the people around him. He will come when his name is called and is very easygoing about nail trims. Anyone in the household can clip his nails without a struggle. He is food motivated and a delightfully silly, vocal cat who loves to “make muffins,” roll around in front of people for attention, and chat with you throughout the day. He is easily self-entertained, low maintenance, and typically sleeps for most of the day.

He is up to date on all vaccinations, has no health conditions, and has none of the common issues often seen in cats his age. He does great with his litter box and does best when there is one or two available in the home.

Pluto would thrive in a household where at least one person is around most of the day, though he can be left alone for up to seven hours. He does well in both large families and smaller homes and enjoys relaxing at the foot of the bed, curling up in a cat bed next to a desk while you work, or sleeping with someone at night. He entertains himself with his stuffed toys and has a calm, affectionate presence.

Pluto will come with everything he needs, including litter, toys, a cat bed, a litter box, a litter genie, and an automated feeder.
