by 5/4 This cat has been treated for upper respiratory disease and, while stable and bright, continues to have persistent congestion and stertorous (noisy) breathing. Advanced diagnostics performed under sedation, including a nasopharyngeal exam and skull radiographs, did not identify a polyp or mass, and findings are most consistent with chronic rhinitis (chronic URI).

Despite antibiotic therapy and a nasal flush, clinical signs have not significantly improved, which supports a chronic condition rather than an acute infection.

Additional concerns include:

Hyperthyroidism (requires ongoing medical management)
Underconditioned (BCS 2-3/9) with significant muscle wasting Dental disease with most adult teeth missing The cat is currently stable, eating some wet food, but will require a dedicated adopter or rescue prepared for ongoing medical care and monitoring that the shelter cannot continue managing. This include treatment of her hyperthyroid.
