Jessica - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Sacramento, California

Young mom, Jessica, was brought to the SPCA nursing a whopping litter of 6 kittens! She did a wonderful job caring for her babies, despite barely being an adult herself. Her kittens are now weaned, and she is ready to begin the next stage of her life, just being a loved cat in her new family's home.

Jessica is a striking tuxedo beauty with sleek black fur, piercing gold eyes, and graceful movements. The black dot on the bottom of her chin just adds more character. She is somewhat underweight from nursing such a large litter and being so young herself, but she has a wonderful appetite and should quickly fill out now that her nursing responsibilities are over. Jessica spent three weeks in a foster home and acclimated well to the noises and business of an indoor environment, including not reacting when she could hear the family dog barking. She absolutely LOVES human attention, even sometimes pushing her babies out of the way so she can get all of the pets for herself. She often leaned against her foster family's legs while being petted, almost like she was hugging them back. Jessica had a pretty relaxed and mellow personality while in foster, but her playfulness may come out in her forever home because she is very young and will no longer be caring for her babies. Jessica is a very sweet, affectionate, and beautiful cat that is so incredibly deserving of a loving home where she will be spoiled!

If you are interested in this specific animal, please come to the shelter for walk-in adoptions Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30am to 5:30pm. We recommend coming in as early as possible, as adoptions are first-come, first-served.
