Meet Shyla, a tender heart looking for a patient home. She is a beautiful brown tabby with a gentle spirit and a shy soul. She was surrendered by someone who could no longer care for her, and the big transition to life at the Center has been overwhelming for this sensitive girl. She's been slow to adjust, but every day she shows us a little more of the sweet, loving cat she truly is. With time and quiet encouragement, Shyla has begun coming out of her shell. She'll offer shy headbutts, accept gentle pets, and show glimmers of trust that feel like small but meaningful victories. She wants to connect; she just needs someone who understands that she'll get there in her own time. Like many timid, sensitive cats, Shyla can become overstimulated. When she feels unsure or overwhelmed, she may hiss or swat to let you know she needs space. It's simply her way of communicating, and with a patient, catsavvy person, she will continue to learn how to feel safe and secure. Shyla may take time to blossom, but once she trusts you, the bond you build will be deep and incredibly rewarding.
