Nutmeg is a sweet, very affectionate lady who has survived living outdoors, foraging for food from a landfill site. Now she is ready for the security of a forever home where she can show her adopter how happy she is to be safe at last. Because Nutmeg is so affectionate, she will bump her head or rub her face against you. She is still learning how to moderate this so that she doesn’t accidentally nip or scratch with her front teeth; she would therefore be best suited to a home with older children or adults who can continue to socialize her in the best ways to love on her people. It is never aggressive; she just wants to snuggle with you all the time!
Nutmeg’s adopter will really be fortunate as this little kitty loves her people. In foster, she has shown she would like nothing better than to sit with her human all day long, being petted. She would undoubtedly love to sleep with her person at night; in foster, this has not been possible and she does not complain, so if you want some space at night, she will go with that. She loves to sit on a cat tree and snooze or watch the world go by.
It seems that Nutmeg has not had much experience simply playing, which fits with her background; she sometimes looks adorably puzzled when her foster parents have tried to tempt her with balls or wand toys. This will be a fun part of her learning in her permanent home.
Nutmeg has an eye condition in one eye which does not affect her vision but will require occasional medication for flare ups.
She uses the litter box consistently. She loves both wet and dry food, but is not as food motivated as some cats; really her biggest wish in life is to stay close to a human. It seems as if, having had to survive difficult conditions, she is now just so grateful to be safe, warm, and fed, that her focus in life is show her gratitude to her people.
