Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption

DUTCHESS

Domestic Short Hair
🇨🇦
Pickering, Ontario
February 25th
female, medium, adult

DESCRIPTION

Empress, Sultan, Tsaritsa, Dame, Duchess, Lady and Khan were members of a small colony in rural Ontario.

Dutchess is a stunning 3-year-old tortoiseshell with the most striking burst of orange across her face — she truly turns heads. But behind that beauty is a tender, sensitive heart.

After living her life outdoors, moving inside has been a big adjustment. Dutchess is still learning that people can be safe and that indoor life comes with warmth, comfort, and full food bowls. She is very nervous around new people, but there isn’t a mean bone in her body. Even when she’s scared, she remains gentle.

And here’s the sweetest sign of hope — even though she’s afraid, she will still take treats from your hand. That quiet bravery says so much about her willingness to trust.

She does well with other cats and often finds comfort curled up inside a cat house with her smaller buddy, Tsaritza. Having feline friends helps her feel secure as she continues to build confidence.

Dutchess is looking for a patient, understanding home where she can move at her own pace. She may not be the cat who runs up to greet you right away — but for the right family, watching her blossom will be incredibly rewarding. She has so much potential just waiting to be discovered.

Would you like to make Dutchess a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form
