Personality type:
Part-time lover - Wants to be in the same room but also likes their space.
Rufio is an extremely sweet and gentle gray tabby cat who I first saw climbing on the roof of my neighbor's garage! He's a little shy around other cats, but not aggressive at all, and I think would probably do well around others with similar temperaments. Has a kink in his tail, doctors aren't sure whether he was born like that or was injured as a kitten, but he's not worried about it.
Rufio is very quiet except for during one of our rituals: when I make a cup of tea, he comes into the kitchen and meows until I pick him up. He likes to play with a feather or string! He's had some urination issues: 1) Uses top-entry litter boxes because he has a habit of peeing a little high (maybe something to do with the tail?), but I haven't had a single problem since I started using them. Would be happy to provide his adopter with a couple of these boxes. 2) Had crystals in his urine over a year ago, and has since taken a 5mg amitriptyline once daily in a pill pocket, and has has no issues since. It's an extremely inexpensive medication and he takes it well. That might initially seem like a lot to deal with, but I assure you, it's super easy, and he has such a warm and uplifting personality, it's totally worth it -- happy to discuss this further with you.
Rufio is just a super chill, great roommate, good friend kind of a cat.
Rufio is a young adult and is neutered, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. He is Affectionate, Curious, Friendly, Easygoing, Fun, Laidback, Gentle, Independent, Playful, and Quiet.
