Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption

Holy Mackerel! Well, at least he thinks so...I mean, he is a cat after all.

Mackerel isn't just another fish in the sea, he's the catch of the day! This sweet and affectionate little dude teleported or something into the basement of his previous-to-PAWS caretaker back towards the end of January (perhaps to escape that storm we shall not name?). Needing some luck to come his way, Mackerel found that in spades with that family since they were willing and able to get him quickly checked out at a vet -- he had an eye infection, a wound on his foot, and some worms (just to ice that cake for him). He is still being treated with antibiotics for the wound, but is healing up splendidly and can't wait for more cuddles and care with her new family!

Mackerel does seem like a social kitty who would love a larger school to swim with, but due to the unknown nature of that wound we wouldn't recommend pairing him up with any furry friends for a least a few months to be safe. But after that? Why not!

This cat is currently located at PAWS Old City Adoption Center located at 100 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106. This location prioritizes appointments made by already approved applicants, but we can also accommodate browsers and walk-ins if and as our capacity allows.
