Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Chicklit ACCT-A-207211 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to medical concerns. Chicklit must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER or FOSTER by SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7TH at 10AM. Should Chicklit's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change.



Chicklit is a very sweet older gentleman who was surrendered to ACCT after he bit his owner for the first time. His owner described him as not being litterbox-trained, but at the shelter, we have seen him regularly use his litterbox.



Chicklit has stage 2 periodontal disease with severe gingivitis, and would benefit from extractions that cannot be performed at ACCT. He urgently needs to leave with a rescue that can provide him with the dental care he needs, or a foster through ACCT who can help coordinate an offsite surgery for him.



Medical notes:



11/18 Oral Cavity/Teeth: Stage 2 periodontal disease. Focally severe gingivitis. possible FORL. No obvious oral masses/lesions on cursory exam.



11/18 Musculoskeletal: Ambulatory x 4; without ataxia, appreciable joint effusion, asymmetry noted. moderate hind limb atrophy and mild crepitus stifles/hips.



Chicklit was very well-behaved for his exam with the vet, and can regularly be found at his kennel door seeking attention. He enjoys pets to the head and back, and, at the tender age of 13, appears energetic and very social.



We would love to see this guy get those painful teeth removed so he can enjoy his golden years in comfort.
