Honda - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Oakland, California

Handsome little Honda came to us in rough shape -- thin, covered in motor oil, and with congenital deformities affecting his front legs. In foster care, he has blossomed into a happy, active, and incredibly affectionate companion. He loves to run and play, purr, and snuggle, and his sweet personality shines through in everything he does.

Honda's front limbs are not formed properly, so as he walks and runs, the wrist or one of his arms rubs on the ground. Because of this, he will need to remain an indoor-only cat and is most comfortable on soft, carpeted surfaces. He also will need to be monitored closely for development of any wounds, and may benefit from using bandaging or protective covering of one of his front limbs to prevent abrasion. When he is full grown, it is possible that a wheelchair could assist with his comfortable mobility. He should be kept at a lean weight lifelong to avoid additional pressure on his front limbs and joints.

Honda would thrive in a calm home and may enjoy the companionship of another feline friend. Despite his unique mobility needs, he doesn't let anything slow him down -- he is truly a special boy with so much love to give and will make a wonderful lifelong companion.
