At 6 years old, she has reached that perfect age where she is settled, easygoing, and deeply attuned to her humans. KayKay isn't just a cat who lives in your house; she's a companion who actively seeks out your company, whether she's chirping a greeting when you walk through the door or claiming her spot on the couch the second you sit down. Because she thrives so much on human connection, KayKay would be happiest as your one and only pet. She truly wants to own your lap and be the sole recipient of your attention! However, she may be able to co-exist peacefully with a very calm resident cat or dog, provided they are willing to give her plenty of space and leave her to her own devices. She's looking for a home where someone is around most of the time to appreciate her loyal nature. She's also a good match for families with kids over 8 years of age! KayKay is also looking for a guardian who isn't intimidated by a medical routine. She has a working diagnosis of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), a chronic condition that requires a steady hand and a watchful eye. Her maintenance is straightforward--a hydrolyzed protein diet and a daily over-the-counter B12 supplement--but she may experience periodic flare-ups in the future that are part of the territory with IBD. While she is currently stable, her new family should be prepared to work closely with a veterinarian to manage these episodes, which may occasionally require a course of an inexpensive steroid to get her back on track. For an experienced cat owner, KayKay's needs are simply a part of the daily rhythm, rewarded tenfold by her affection. She is a resilient, soulful girl who has navigated a lot of change and is simply looking for a stable place to call her forever home. If you have the experience to manage her health and the space in your life for a truly devoted sidekick, KayKay is ready to settle in for good! Her adoption fee is $200.
