Powder Keg is a very shy, frightened one-year-old kitty who is still learning that the world can be gentle. Behind those cautious little eyes is a tender heart just waiting for someone patient enough to help him feel safe.

He has silky-soft, handsome gray fur brushed with soft black stripes that seem to melt into one another, and stunning topaz eyes that hold so much quiet hope.

Once Powder Keg realizes you are a friend, his whole little body begins to soften. He becomes an expert biscuit maker, kneading away as if he is finally letting himself believe that love is real.

He longs to play, but he just does not quite know how yet. You can almost see the brave, playful cat inside him peeking out, waiting for someone to show him that joy is safe too.

With time, patience, and kindness, Powder Keg has every bit of potential to become a devoted Velcro cat, the kind who chooses his person deeply and loves them with his whole heart once trust takes root. He already loves gentle pets, ear scritches, chin rubs, and soft attention. What he needs most is someone who will not rush him, someone who understands that the quietest cats often have the biggest love to give.
