Ruby is a pretty grey-and-white girl, about a year and a half old, who was rescued off the street as a frightened, hungry, abandoned stray trying to scrounge food from a dumpster along with her daughter (who has been adopted) and son (Rocket, posted separately) after they were dumped outside to fend for themselves in single-digit temperature-- discarded as though they were worthless! Well, she's not worthless, she's a treasure! Give her love and she will give you 1000 times more in return. You'll never get anything better than that. Once she arrived in her foster home, it didn't take her long to realize that she had just gotten out of a bad situation and into a much better one. Within a couple of days, Ruby's affectionate, mischievous nature emerged. She enjoys being pet, loves to play, and will happily entertain them with playful antics. She will add warmth and love to any home lucky enough to have her. We haven’t seen her around dogs or children yet. We think she'd do fine with kids who know how to be respectful to cats. Nearly all cats are OK with kids like that. Ruby would do best in an interactive home where she isn’t left alone for long hours. Whoever is fortunate enough to adopt this girl will gain a companion for life who will be devoted. Ruby seems like an easy cat who would be suitable for a first-time adopter.
She has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and treated for worms and fleas. Her adopter will receive her medical records. She’s being fostered in Wellesley. Adoptions are facilitated by video meet-and-greets, as well as in-person visits. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee of $225, which helps us continue rescuing cats in need. -- a bargain for a new best friend. Cats can live past 20 years, so please consider whether you can commit to providing a safe, loving home for life before adopting. Please email Safercats11@gmail.com with your phone number and a little about yourself and the home you would provide. Doing so helps rescuers match cats with the right adopters.
