DESCRIPTION

Rocket is a friendly grey-tabby-and-white shorthair, about 10 months old, who was rescued off the street as a frightened, hungry, abandoned stray along with his sister (who has been adopted) and mother Ruby (posted separately) after they were dumped outside to fend for themselves in single-digit temperature-- discarded as though they were worthless! Well, he's not worthless, he's a treasure! Give him love and he will give you 1000 times more in return. You'll never get anything better than that. Once he realized that he had gotten out of a bad situation and into a much better one, Rocket showed himself to be the playful, affectionate boy that he really is by maintaining orbit around his fosters, curling up next to them whenever possible. He will add warmth and love to any home lucky enough to have him. We haven’t seen him around dogs or children yet. We think he'd do fine with kids who know how to be respectful to cats. Nearly all cats are OK with kids like that. However, Rocket tends to be intimidated by other cats, so he would be best as the sole Prince in his feline domain. Rocket would do best in an interactive home where he isn’t left alone for long hours. Whoever is fortunate enough to adopt this boy will gain a companion for life who will be devoted. Rocket seems like an easy cat who would be suitable to launch into the home of a first-time adopter.

He has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and treated for worms and fleas. His adopter will receive his medical records. He’s being fostered in Wellesley. Adoptions are facilitated by video meet-and-greets, as well as in-person visits. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee, which helps us continue rescuing cats in need. In Rocket's case, it's a mere $225-- a bargain for a new best friend who will love you for the rest of his life. Cats can live past 20 years, so please consider whether you can commit to providing a safe, loving home for life before adopting. Please email Safercats11@gmail.com with your phone number and a little about yourself and the home you would provide. Doing so helps rescuers match cats with the right adopters.
