Meet Snap Dragon! He is big, bold, and bursting with a larger-than-life purrsonality! This handsome 12 year old tabby boy faced a tough chapter in his life when his family moved and left him behind. Snap Dragon was understandably heartbroken and came to us with a fierce glare, his walls up, and a whole lot of feelings he was not sure what to do with. Snap Dragon's fear showed up as anger, and he made it very clear he was not impressed with his new surroundings. Thanks to the love and care from our volunteers and cat whisperers, Snap Dragon—now affectionately nicknamed “Mr. Snappy”—is starting to show us his softer, sweeter side. He is the first to greet visitors at the door and is now even enjoying some pets. Snap Dragon’s signature grumbly growl might sound intimidating, but it is just his quirky way of saying hello. He is mostly all bark and no bite, though he may give a paw tap if he feels nervous or needs a little space.
Snap Dragon is still learning to trust and open his heart again. He would love to find a cat-savvy home where he can feel safe, loved, and free to be himself-no other cats or children, please! Snap Dragon has no health concerns and uses his litter box like a pro. Give Snap Dragon time and plenty of love, and he will be showing off all the charm and quirkiness that make him so special in no time! And who knows? He may even surprise you with a hidden cuddle-bug side.
