Meet the Cats of Gettysburg at the Kitty Corner by Forever Love Rescue
Meow meet Trevor! Trevor’s story is one of survival, devotion, and quiet unwavering love. Before he ever knew the comfort of a warm bed or a gentle hand, he was just another cat in a community cat colony, doing his best to survive. Then something unimaginable happened - his entire neck was torn open. The injury was catastrophic. Painful. Life threatening. But Trevor fought. He spent nine long months in quarantine, followed by many more months healing. Day after day, he endured treatments, bandage changes, and the discomfort of wearing a cone. He could have become fearful. Withdrawn. Angry at the world. He didn’t. Instead, Trevor chose trust. He chose softness. He chose love! And then in walks Raja. While he was still healing, still wearing that awkward cone, most cats kept their distance. But not her. She walked right up to him as if she could see past the wounds and collar. She sat with him. She played with him. She groomed him. She didn’t see something broken - she saw Trevor. From that moment on, they were inseparable. They sleep curled together. They play together. They comfort each other. They are bonded in the deepest sense of the word - two souls who found safety in each other. They must stay together. Trevor is the kind of cat who will quietly climb into your lap and melt. He makes the sweetest biscuits, his paws gently kneading as if he’s thanking you for loving him. He adores neck scratches, head rubs, and long strokes down his back and tail. Belly rubs? He’d rather not. Being picked up? Not a favorite but will tolerate it because he trusts you. Because of the trauma his little body endured, Trevor will always need extra care. He must wear his protective collar at all times - without it he will scratch his neck open. His collar is changed every two weeks, nails trimmed monthly, and a bath every two months as well as a special diet. The rescue will make sure the adopters have all the information needed. His care is ongoing. It is a commitment. But he is so much more than his medical needs. He is resilience wrapped in soft buff and white fur. He is gratitude in the form of gentle purrs. He is proof that even the most wounded hearts can love the hardest. Trevor has already fought to live. Now he deserves a life filled with warmth, patience, and a family who sees his collar not as a burden - but as a symbol of survival. If you open your heart to Trevor and Raja, you aren’t just adopting two cats. You are giving a survivor the forever he almost didn’t get. And he will spend everyday in your lap, making biscuits, reminding you that love is always worth fighting for!
