Before getting rescued, Calypso lived outside and had litter after litter of kittens before she was finally trapped through a TNR effort and spayed. The moment she was safely in the trap, something surprising happened. She started purring. Loudly. It was the clearest sign that underneath everything she had been through, she was a loving, affectionate cat who was ready for a better life.
Calypso absolutely loves cheek scratches and will lean right into them while her loud purr gets going. She has a gentle, sweet personality and clearly enjoys being around people. She also has a funny little quirk that makes her even more lovable. Calypso sometimes gives a tiny growl or hiss when she greets you, but it isn't angry at all. It's just her unique way of saying hello. She even makes the same little sound when she's eating, a soft “ra-ra-ra-ra” that is honestly one of the cutest things you'll ever hear.
After spending so much of her life taking care of kittens outside, Calypso is ready for a home where she can finally be the one who is cared for. She's sweet, affectionate, and full of personality, and she's ready to start her next chapter with someone who will love her forever.
