Otis is a 6+-year-old adult male cat with the heart of a lap cat and the personality of a dog. Raised alongside a large-breed dog and multiple cats since kittenhood, Otis is exceptionally social and thrives on companionship.
Due to a change in his family’s living situation that no longer aligned with his needs, Otis was surrendered to AJL. He does best in a home with other animals and/or attentive humans, as loneliness causes him to vocalize his distress—something that may be challenging in apartment settings. Otis would be happiest with a stay-at-home human or a household where someone is around often.
He is currently flourishing in his foster home, which includes a large chocolate lab, two adult cats, and one senior cat. Otis has blended seamlessly into this environment without any behavioral concerns. He is welcoming and accepting of both humans and animals alike.
Otis does have one firm preference: he does not tolerate being shut in or out of rooms, which causes him significant stress. A free-roam home is essential for his comfort and happiness.
Extremely affectionate and clingy, Otis loves to be as close to his person as possible. Whether it’s your head, chest, lap, or any nearby surface, he’ll find a way to snuggle up and stay connected.
