Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption

HELEN

Domestic Short Hair
February 19th
female, medium, young

DESCRIPTION

Helen is looking for her forever home, but she needs your help -- because she can't see! As a result of blunt force trauma, Helen fractured her skull, sustaining neutrological damage and losing her vision. But that doesn't slow her down at all! Helen can run and jump and scale cat trees with the confidence of a cat with vision. She even gets the zoomies! You can barely tell she's blind (until she runs into something). Helen leans on her other senses to help her paint a picture of her world. She will walk the perimeter of the room making little noises to get a sense of the layout. Sometimes she does a little nibble on a toe or a finger, but it's harmless. Her mouth needs to be her eyes sometimes!

Helen is very loving, and comes to sounds rather than running away from them. She follows people very closely, and is always by your feet. If you're not careful, she might try and trip you. She would need an adopter with a little extra awareness for this reason. An ideal home would be a smaller one that doesn't rearrange furniture frequently. Helen would definitely need another cat friend to show her the lay of the land as well. She gets along great with other cats, especially her friend Melon. Helen is about 8 months old and spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and up-to-date on all of her vaccinations. She has never met dogs or kids, but would probably be fine if they were very gentle and introduced properly. Got a soft spot for distinctive & brave kitties? Apply for Helen today!
