Meet Emily
She’s 2 years old and has been with us since September, quietly waiting while the world rushes past.
Emily isn’t a kitten. She’s a grown lady with opinions, preferences, and a very clear sense of what she wants and when she wants it. She enjoys being pet and will happily make biscuits, but on her terms. She’s a bit high-maintenance in the way only true cat people understand. Most of us have loved at least one cat like Emily, and those are usually the ones who leave the deepest impression.
What we really want you to know is this: Emily wants to be a pet. She forms strong attachments to her caregivers, especially the ones who arrive with wet food and treats. Those are the people she warms up to fastest, and once she does, she’s affectionate, soft, and clearly invested in her person.
Our concern is time. The longer Emily stays in the shelter, surrounded by barking dogs and constant noise, the harder it is for her to fully relax. We don’t want her to lose the social side of herself that’s already there, waiting for the right environment to let it bloom.
Emily would thrive in a home where she can roam a room or two, choose her favorite nap spots, and settle into a quiet routine with someone who understands cats like her. She doesn’t need chaos. She needs patience, respect, and a human who knows that earning a cat’s trust is the whole point.
