For many months, Skittles had one gear: scaredy overdrive. Now he has three: scaredy overdrive, cautious curiosity, and feline fun. Skittles is trying so hard to be a lap cat, he just can't quite get past the part where the lap belongs to a human. He absolutely adores other cats of all varieties-especially his older mischievous foster brother. He will play, snuggle, and explore with them. Because Skittles values feline companionship so much, he will need to go home with a friend or to a home with an existing friendly cat.

Humans, on the other hand, are very rarely acceptable. Skittles keeps very close tabs on his foster mother, following her from room to room and remaining about 4 feet away at all times. More than once, she has awoken in the middle of the night to find him glued to her side, snoozing away. He often jumps up on the couch, just out of reach, but purring. But petting with hands is forbidden. Petting with feet has slowly become tolerable. We're getting there!

Skittles is so sweet you'll want to grab him and snuggle your face against him, but alas you'll likely have to admire him from afar... at least for awhile. Skittles is very food- and treat-motivated and his foster mother is confident that he is eventually going to bond fiercely with a patient human who will have to put in a little extra effort in gaining his trust. Skittles doesn't mind children being around (although none have ever been fast enough to sneak a pet in!)
