DESCRIPTION

Are you needing a very playful white kitten with brown tabby markings overlapping his back in your world? Then Whiskey's the one for you! He is a 6 month old somewhat bashful boy kitten with bundles of energy inside his body.

Whiskey is learning to be an indoor kitten and is doing well after 3 weeks. He will need patience and time to continue adjusting to the life of an indoor kitty. For now, he does not like to be picked up and held. It causes panic attacks. He does enjoy being with hoomans esp when they get down on the floor with a wand toy for Whiskey to play and jump around with. His other fav toy is a 3 tier stack with balls to bat around and around. But he plays with other toys too such as balls, mice, etc. Once Whiskey feels safe and comfortable, he will lay down for a gentle tummy rub. He stretches out his front and back feet when this happens too. He will accept petting too when he goes for a walk about.

As a bashful kitten, Whiskey is hesitant to come out of hiding at the beginning but with treats and play activities with his hoomans he will do so. He may do best initially in a small room so he can become use to you and all the new smells around him. In the last couple of days, Whiskey began making tentative eye contact with his foster mom. Whiskey would adore having friendly feline friend(s) who will help him become the best house kitty he can be. Dogs may be too much unless they are a laidback easy going pup.

He is eating a mix of Science Diet Kitten and Purina One Kitten food. Greenies or other cat treats are yummy too. Whiskey can be a bit of a messy eater as he picks through the kibble to find the best ones to eat first. Whiskey will allow his nails to be clipped though this happens in the bathroom with him wrapped in a towel. I gently pull a foot out, clip nails, then tuck his foot back in and go from there. He knows to use a litterbox though he does get a little crazy with the litter. LOL. Please allow Whiskey time to adjust, he is well worth the effort.

The 3-3-3 rules for adopting pets is very beneficial to know. It is a guideline for acclimating adopted kittens/cats, first 3 days of decompression (hiding, stress), 3 weeks learning routines (settling in), and 3 months feeling fully at home. It emphasizes patience and providing a safe space to build trust. This process is especially important for kitties like Whiskey.
