Ricochet was initially very timid. Loud noises and quick movements alarmed her, so she retreated to hiding all the time.
Forced love, a quiet home, patience, LOTS of churu treats, and playtime later, she has learned that people are not scary and that she is now safe.
Although she has come a long way, Ricochet would succeed the most in a kid-and dog-free environment, due to her more reserved nature. She is incredibly sweet and affectionate once she is comfortable with you, she just needs a patient adopter who is willing to give her the time she needs to settle in.
She likes her feline-friends, however Ricochet is FeLV+ (feline leukemia positive), so she'll need to be indoor-only cat and either be your only cat or join a home with other FeLV+ cats. Despite her diagnosis, FeLV+ cats can live happy, fulfilling lives and Ricochet surely proves that.
She enjoys basking in the sun, chasing wand toys, hunting stuffed mice, and churu meat tubes. She also enjoys being an occasional lap cat every now and then.
If you are looking for a cat who can be playful and affectionate, but also enjoys their independence, Ricochet may be the one for you!
