Prince – Your Majestic Orange Gentlemen
Meet Prince, an 8-year-old, 21.5lb, orange tabby gentleman who takes his royal title seriously! Especially when it comes to peace and quiet. In the shelter, Prince can be timid at first and prefers a calm, gentle environment where he can feel safe and move at his own pace. Prince likes to be in control of greetings. When he’s comfortable, he can be very affectionate, leaning into pets and soaking up attention. When approached too quickly or when he feels overwhelmed, he may hiss or swat to let you know he needs more space, so he does best with patient humans who will let him come to them and respect his boundaries.
This handsome "orange loaf" is also working on his royal wellness plan. At 21.5 lbs, he’d benefit from an adopter committed to helping him reach a healthy weight so he can enjoy his golden years. He’s very food-motivated and enjoys wand toys, making playtime a great way to help him stay active. Prince does best on a routine with measured meals and scheduled treats. No free-feeding for this king of snacks!
Prince has made it clear that dogs are not part of his kingdom. He has been selective about feline friends and may be happiest as the only cat, or with another mellow, respectful cat after a slow, careful introduction. Because he doesn’t have much patience for the energy and unpredictability of small children, Prince would likely do best in a home with adults and older kids who can understand and honor his signals. Give Prince time to get to know you, and this big orange gentleman will show you a sweet, loving side that’s well worth the wait!
