Marsik's story started as a stray. He was found surviving by begging for food and keeping warm in car engines.
Fast-forward a few weeks, and today, Marsik is a total sweetheart who truly enjoys people. He loves pets, leans in for affection and gives the cutest little elevator butt to show his appreciation. He likes being near his humans and is happiest when he’s part of your day.
Marsik does best with respectful affection — he can get a bit overstimulated if petting goes on too long and is not a fan of being picked up, so he appreciates someone who understands cat cues and lets him set the pace. In return, you get a loving, loyal companion with the most gorgeous green eyes who wants to be close and connected. He could be shy at first, but once he gets to know you, he will be your best friend.
Marsik has already done the hard part — surviving. Now he’s ready for the good part: a safe home, kind humans and a life where he never has to worry again.
If you’re willing to give him a chance and be patient with him, this sweet, soulful cat will reward your love with trust and affection.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!
$300 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes. These 'guardian kittens' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens.
$200 for purebred/highly requested cats older than 6 months such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coone mixes. These 'guardian cats' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens.
$200 for kittens (6 months & under)
$125 for cats (older than 6 months)
$75 for senior cats (8 years or older)

Our adoption process is:
1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.
2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
