Meet Mercer. At just 1–2 years young, Mercer is a gentle soul who’s still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. He can be a little shy at first, but with patience and a calm environment, his sweet personality begins to shine through. Mercer would do best in a quiet, low-traffic home where he can feel secure and move at his own pace. He’s comfortable with other cats and may even find reassurance in a feline friend, but he would prefer a home without dogs or young children. If you have a peaceful home and a kind heart, Mercer is ready to blossom with you.

Paws and Prayers cats are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, FIV/FeLV tested (neg), dewormed, current on flea/tick prevention, and microchipped at the time of adoption. They are litter box trained unless otherwise noted. Please be aware we do not walk around standing & holding our shelter cats - this is unnatural to them, and we like to keep them as comfortable as possible. Please read the entire bio before emailing the foster with questions. Meet and greets are not arranged unless an adoption application is filled out and approved and are by appointment only.

Resident pets of all applicants must have had routine veterinary care, be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines per the recommendations of your vet, current on heartworm tests and prevention (dogs only). We will verify these records; giving your veterinarian permission to speak with us will help expedite the processing of your application. Should your pet have a medical issue that may prohibit any of these, please note that on your application and we will also verify this with your veterinarian.
