Meet Vaughn — A Chatty, Cuddly Lovebug with Detective Skills

Vaughn is a clingy, cuddly lap cat with a playful streak and a wonderfully expressive personality. He loves surveying his kingdom from the top of the cat tree like a king or watching the world go by from his favorite window perch. His goofy, sweet nature is impossible to resist, and when he's feeling especially cozy, he'll gently nuzzle his foster mom's face with his own — a true lovebug move.

Vaughn is very affectionate, though he does need a few days to warm up in new environments. New places (including the vet) can be scary for him, but once he feels safe, he blossoms into a deeply cuddly, devoted companion. He thrives on connection and loves having his people nearby. He's laid back and can handle some independence during the day, but he would thrive in a home where he gets dedicated daily playtime and cuddle time with his trusted humans. A calmer home would be ideal for him, where he can feel secure and settled.

Playtime is one of Vaughn's favorite things. He LOVES wand toys, spinner toys, and any game where he gets to “hunt.” Treat puzzles are a big hit too — Vaughn is very smart and a little detective at heart, excellent at solving them. He's extremely food-motivated and not picky at all, which has been a huge help in building trust. He happily eats dry food and all types of wet food without issue.

Vaughn enjoys the company of people and warms up well to new ones. His previous owner shared that he's friendly with other cats once he settles in, and with a proper, gradual introduction, we believe he would do just fine with a feline companion. He could also do well in a home with children, as long as they are gentle, respectful, and understand cat boundaries.

Once comfortable, Vaughn is a champion lap cat. He loves sitting in laps, sleeping beside you (or right on top of you), and soaking up affection. He enjoys head pets, chin scratches, and especially being brushed — if you hold the brush near his face, he'll happily rub right into it. Vaughn is also quite chatty and will happily “talk” to you, meowing to greet you, say goodbye, or politely (and persistently) insist that you sit down and give him attention.
