Meet Canary – The Dainty Little Huntress with a Big Purr and Even Bigger Eyes

Canary may look delicate and dainty, but don't let that fool you — this girl is pure playful energy wrapped in the softest fur imaginable. With her big, beautiful eyes (seriously, they could melt steel), she has a way of looking at you that instantly turns your heart to mush. If she had a superpower, it would absolutely be heat vision — because one glance from this sweet girl and you're done for.

Because she is still young and full of kitten energy, Canary will need to be adopted into a home with another kitty friend to socialize with — ideally another young, playful cat who can keep up with her all-day play sessions. She has done well with all the people (including older, respectful children) she has met. She hasn't yet been introduced to other types of animals yet, but with a slow and appropriate introduction, she should do well. She can be startled by loud noises, though she settles quickly, so a quieter home may be preferred — but overall she is quite adaptable. While she is independent enough to be okay on her own for periods while her humans are at work or out socializing, she is truly a lover at heart and would be happiest in a home where people are around often to shower her with attention.

Playtime is Canary's absolute favorite thing in the world. She can play all day long without missing a beat! Toy mice? Yes, please. Little balls with strings? She'll proudly carry them around in her mouth like prized trophies. Feather wands and fishing poles? She'll leap, twist, and stalk with impressive determination. She especially loves having a little hiding spot where she can crouch low and “hunt” her prey before pouncing. It's adorable — and impressive. This dainty little lady also loves her food. She gets wildly excited at mealtime and eats with surprising gusto, making the funniest little gremlin-like “nom nom nom” sounds that will absolutely make you laugh.

And when the great hunt is finally over? That's when her affectionate side takes center stage. Canary will reach out with her tiny paw when she wants attention (which is beyond adorable), rub against your legs while purring loudly to say hello, and then curl up beside you once she's ready to rest. She loves being pet and will happily soak up affection. Although being held is acceptable only briefly, she loves to settle down next to you on her own terms like the independent queen she is. Her foster family says they will miss her loud purring and sweet cuddles more than anything.
