Blaziken, Conqueror of Cardboard
Blaziken is a dashing shorthaired orange tabby with bright eyes, an impressive little mane, and the unmistakable expression of a kitten who has just had an idea. Whether it was a good idea is another question entirely. Blaziken, or Blaze to his friends, is a glorious representative of the orange-cat tradition: cheerful, affectionate, mischievous, occasionally ridiculous, and absolutely certain that the world has been provided for his entertainment.
Blaze has been raised with love in a foster home and has been socialized with men, women, older children, and other cats. He's confident, outgoing, and accustomed to the everyday activity of a household. He hasn't met dogs yet, but his foster family believes his friendly confidence would help him adjust to a cat-friendly dog after a proper introduction. Blaze is extremely social and must be adopted into a home with another cat. He could go home with his littermate Blastoise (Blast), giving you the excellent combination of one cardboard-conquering orange adventurer and one fluffy professional cuddler. He would also be happy joining a home with an established friendly cat who wants an enthusiastic new playmate and companion.
True to his Pokémon namesake, Blaze approaches life with enthusiasm. He plays hard, explores boldly, and is always ready for the next adventure. Unlike Blaziken the Pokémon, however, this little guy isn't particularly interested in battling anyone. His preferred opponents are springs, balls, feather wands, cardboard boxes, mysterious objects under doors, and occasionally his own tail.
The tail remains undefeated.
Cardboard, however, is Blaze's particular specialty. Boxes are for climbing into, climbing onto, hiding behind, pouncing out of, chewing experimentally, and eventually destroying in the name of science. Give him an expensive cat toy and the box it arrived in, and Blaze would like to thank you very much for his new box.
Hence his official title: Conqueror of Cardboard.
For all his mischief, Blaze is an enormously social little guy. He's often the first kitten to greet his foster family when they come home, appearing to welcome everyone back and find out where they've been, what they've brought him, and whether anything interesting happened in his absence. Guests are simply new people he hasn't befriended yet.
Blaze will play with virtually anything. If it rolls, wiggles, jingles, dangles, rustles, or has the audacity to move unexpectedly, the game is on. When no suitable opponent presents itself, he'll improvise. A stray piece of paper will do. So will a shadow. So will the aforementioned tail.
This is a kitten who makes his own fun.
Blaze also has an affectionate side underneath all that orange exuberance. Once he's finished conquering the known world, he enjoys settling down with his people and feline friends for cuddles and a well-earned nap. He may approach life at full speed, but he likes having someone nearby when it's finally time to recharge.
Blaziken is handsome, hilarious, affectionate, and just mischievous enough to keep life interesting. He may not always know exactly where he's going, but he's going there enthusiastically.
