Meet Jack. Jack is two years old and is having a very hard time adjusting to shelter life. He lived in one home his entire life and had very little exposure to new people, new environments, or even basic experiences like riding in a carrier. Being here has been overwhelming and confusing for him.
When Jack feels unsure or overstimulated, his fear can present as defensive behavior. He will clearly communicate when he is uncomfortable or when his boundaries have been crossed.
Since moving into one of our offices, Jack has already begun to show improvement outside of a kennel setting. With space and consistency, he starts to relax and observe instead of react. He will need a calm home that allows him to decompress at his own pace.
Jack must go to a home with at least one other cat. He gains confidence from other feline companions and feels more secure when he is not alone.
With the right person, Jack has the potential to trust again. He simply needs someone willing to see past his fear and give him the stability he has always known.
