DESCRIPTION

Meet Dolly! Dolly is a beautiful 2 year old black panther. She was rescued from a rural property with two kittens in tow. Dolly is on the shier side but does love pets on her terms. She has a sweet personality. She can be chatty and will tell you if you’re not giving her enough attention or if she thinks it’s dinner time! She loves toys she can bat around (springs, mice, little stuffed toys etc). She will need a little patience and time to adjust to a new home. Dolly is not a lap cat (at least not yet) but likes pets and will rub up against you. Dolly so deserves a forever home. She is frightened around the other cat in her current foster home because he is aggressive and chases her but would be okay with another gentle cat. Dolly would make a great companion in a calmer home. Young rambunctious children would likely scare her.

Dolly has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She tested negative for FELV but positive for FIV. Cats with FIV can make wonderful pets & companions and can live long healthy lives. We have included information and links below on FIV. Her adoption fee will be discounted and we will guaranty her health for 2 years to help her find a loving forever home.

About FIV
-------------
We know so much more about FIV now. FIV is a feline only, slow-acting virus that compromises a cat's immune system over a long period of time. Cats can live long healthy indoor lives with FIV. FIV cannot be transmitted to people or other animal species and it is not easily passed to other cats. FIV is passed between cats through a deep bite – deep enough to inject saliva into the bloodstream of the other cat. You often see these types of bites with males fighting for territory outdoors. FIV is "NOT" passed between cats through shared food bowls, shared litter boxes or through playing, wrestling or licking/cleaning each other. Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine conducted a long-term study in cat shelters and found that FIV-positive cats can live with FIV-negative cats and not infect the FIV-negative cats during normal day-to-day interaction. Studies over the last 10 years have also shown that cats with FIV often live as long as cats that do not have this virus.
