Hi, my name is Mila! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Affectionate, Social, Chatty
-Can Live with Cats: Yes, she has tolerated other cats in a previous home and will probably do OK with slow and supervised introductions
-Can Live with Dogs: No thank you, not a fan!
-Can Live with Kids: Yes, she should be OK with kids of any age, up to counselor's discretion
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Yes, she has always been indoor-only
-History of Litter Box Issues: No
-Energy Level: Medium
-Bite History: No
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No
Mila is an adult cat who is starting to show some age, but has a lot of life left to live! She was surrendered due to ongoing dental problems, which posed greater financial demand than her previous owner could fulfill--see staff for more details. Despite some troubles with her teeth, she is a very tolerant and affectionate cat. She simply loves attention. She shows some signs of overstimulation at times but communicates it peacefully; she'd make a great animal to help learn about respectful interaction + body language!
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
