Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption

LILY

Domestic Short Hair
🇺🇸
Bellingham, Washington
February 20th
female, medium, young

DESCRIPTION

Hi, my name is Lily! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Shy and reserved at first, but an affectionate lap cat once she is comfortable
-Can Live with Cats: Yes, with a slow and proper introduction. Up to counselors discretion.
-Can Live with Dogs: No thank you. Dogs would likely be too loud and overwhelming for me.
-Can Live with Kids: Could live with older respectful kids that could respect Lilys boundaries and be quiet around her when she needs time to decompress. Kids 10 +
-Needs Indoor Only Home: May be ok with some supervised outside time but only once she is comfortable in the home. She would do best in a mostly indoor only home. Final decision up to counselor.
-History of Litter Box Issues: Not that we have noticed since she has been in our care. We are not sure about her full history of litter box usage.
-Energy Level: Moderate
-Bite History: No
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, a spay and a Microchip

Lily is an affectionate wallflower looking for her forever home! She is very shy and quiet at first and may spend some time hiding, but once she is comfortable she will come out purring and and eager for pets. She loves head butting to get more love and will stand on her back paws to reach a hand for optimal petting. An ideal home for lily would be one that has the patients to let her adjust and giver her the quiet time she needs to feel comfortable. She was surrendered to us by her previous owner who claims to have found her outside as a feral cat so most of her early life history is unknown.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
