Galaxie - Domestic Medium Hair Cat for Adoption in Rochester, Indiana

Meet Galaxie!!

This 2 year old, medium haired calico girl is ready to find her forever home!

She has been in our care since the middle of March!



Galaxie was seen on one of the coldest days in March, lurking around outside of her finders home. They tried to find her that day she was seen, but had no luck in doing so. The very next day, the finder went out to search the outbuildings in search of her, as she knew she didn't belong outside and did not look like an unkept outdoor kitty. Galaxie was found that day in the front seat of an old F-250 Pickup Truck, that happened to have the front windows partially down. However, Galaxie wasn't alone!! She had given birth to a litter of kittens on the seat! The finder scooped her up and carefully got the kittens as well. They were taken inside to the finders home for warmth and saftey, as the temperatures were frigid, with a high of only 22* that day!



Galaxie spent a few days contained to a large crate caring for her little ones and resting, and her finder was preparing her to come into our care into a more equipped foster home. She and her three kittens, named after Ford Trucks - Ranger, Maverick and Bronco, spent the next few months in the foster home.

In her foster home, Galaxie also helped care for 10 other, motherless kittens! She was an excellent attentive momma cat! Her three original kittens have since found homes and now it is Galaxie's turn!!



Her foster mom says that Galaxie was a great guest! She is a tidy girl and is happiest as a compainion. Galaxie loves attention and she purrs like a perfectly tuned engine! She enjoys pets and doesn't mind to be held every so often. She will tolerate brushing when its needed. She is ok with other laid back cats and should be fine with kids.

Galaxie was pretty unsure of dogs at her finders home. As long as they stayed away from her and out of her space she tolerated them, but was on alert watching every move they made. We suspect she may coexist ok with dogs who are very laid back and know how to stay out of a cats space. Proper intros are a must in Galaxie's new home.



Spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Adoption fee is $50

Once submitted, staff will review your application during open hours. Please allow 24-36 hours for a response. If approved, we will contact you to schedule a meet & greet! If it's a match, you can take your new kitty home the same day!

We do offer a 2 week foster to adopt trial time, to be sure the chosen pet is a good fit, before finalizing the adoption!
