Mia, Female, 10 years old
The sweetest, most affectionate special gal!! Mia has quite the rescue story- and is now ready to find an amazing home after spending weeks in a loving foster home!
From foster:
This sweet senior girl came into the shelter in rough shape. Her fur was dirty and matted, she was severely underweight and her left leg was horribly infected. Amputation was needed on the infected leg and then we brought her home to foster. Over the last few weeks her incision has healed and she has put on over 1.5 lbs. We gave her a bath, and since then she has started grooming herself and her coat is looking so much better! Mia is getting along great and her transformation has been amazing!
Mia absolutely loves people. She roomed with my 10 yr old while she was here, and would spend hours snuggled on his bed with him. She loves to be pet and when you pick her up she snuggles against you and starts to purr. We took her to Purrlates (Pilates with cats) today and she spent the whole event curled up in someone’s lap. She will hiss at other cats but but doesn’t seem aggressive towards them. So as long as adopters do a slow introduction, I think she would be ok in a home with other cats, or purrrhaps she would just love to be your one and only. She truly will make the most loving, deserving, loyal companion!
Mia also qualifies for the Senior for Seniors Program in which the adoption fee is waived for humans over the age of 60.
All cats receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are dewormed, and spayed/neutered. Cats over 3 months of age are microchipped and FIV/feline leukemia tested.
No appointment is necessary to adopt. Adoptions are done on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will not be accepted in advance and will be filled out at the shelter upon adoption. We want you to meet the purrrrfect feline for you and your lifestyle! FAPL is open Tuesdays-Saturdays from 11am-6:30pm. Sundays 12:00-3:00pm. Closed to the public Mondays. Please bring a copy of lease agreement if you rent home/apartment.
Upon adoption, all cats must go home in a carrier. You may bring one of your own or purchase one from FAPL for a small fee. Please remember, the carrier cannot be opened until safely within your home.
