Meet Coal, a 1-year-old stunner with luxurious, long black fur that's as soft as it looks.
Coal's journey hasn't been easy—he was left behind at a local farm when his previous owners moved away. Because of that, he can be a bit shy with strangers at first. But don't let the initial "wallflower" act fool you! Once Coal knows he's safe, he turns into a total ham who can't get enough attention and chin scratches.
Coal is FIV positive, but don't let that label scare you. One of the most important things to know is that FIV+ cats can live safely with FIV-negative cats in stable, non-aggressive households. Because the virus is primarily spread through deep, serious bite wounds—not through casual contact like sharing food bowls, litter boxes, or grooming—peaceful housemates are at minimal risk.
As explained by the Cornell Feline Health Center, FIV+ cats can live long, healthy, and happy lives with just a little extra TLC and a stable indoor environment. Coal is currently perfectly healthy and ready to find a "furever" home that won't leave him behind.
Could you be the one to show this resilient boy what a real home feels like?
