I didn’t name them so you could!Little Kitten is hilarious, playful and curious! He has a big, silly personality! He is very playful with his momma and is incredibly bright and exploratory once he gets comfortable (which could take a week). Currently, he greatly enjoys exploring and learning about every aspect of his environment and wants to be (gently) petted a fair amount. It’s hard to believe that just a few weeks ago, when he first came indoors, he was so terrified that he hid under the bed (except for meal times) for a full 5 days. Not anymore! This little guy is now quite exuberant, fun-loving, playful and a bold and brave explorer of his new world!Little Kitten is very playful! He loves running around, jumping on the bed, then diving underneath it, then pouncing on imaginary things hiding under the bed pillows. He does little flips and twirls between the comforter and pillows because...IT’S FUN! Little Kitten loves to figure things out! He is now the first to come and check out a new person and gently pokes and prods at things to suss them out. He figured out “toys” after a few weeks, and now enjoys playing with them at times (though He much prefers playing with Momma Cat). He most recently figured out what on earth my computer is all about! After weeks of watching my Zoom meetings with great fascination (first from afar, then gradually getting closer and closer), he has now figured out the computer’s true purpose...to have its keyboard walked across...back and forth...back and forth...very slowly...SO MUCH FUN!! He legitimately seems very proud of himself when he “figures out” a new object.Despite how bold and adventurous he has become, if he is approached too quickly or without enough gentleness or if an unexpected loud noise occurs, he will dive back under the bed for safety. Both Momma Cat and Little Kitten need to get to know new people and new things at their own pace. (A small space without a lot of hiding places like a bathroom is a great way for them to adjust and get to know you.) They need a human who will not rush them, but will let them hide and observe from a safe distance until they feel brave enough to come and explore (within a week I am confident). They need to be allowed to come to you when they feel ready. They both very much appreciate a calm, quiet environment, gentle appreciation and love and minimal hustle-bustle. Would probably not enjoy a home with a lot of activity and noise (i.e., a home with little kids). They are both lovely and affectionate, sweet, gentle and fun--once they feel safe and have had a chance to get to know you!Contact me today at cayugadogrescue@gmail.com to learn more about or meet Little Kitten and/or Momma Cat!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
