Meet Callie, a beautiful 3-year-old dilute calico with soft medium-length fur and a gentle soul that has already been through so much in her young life.
Brit spent her days surviving on the streets of Detroit, where she lovingly raised four beautiful kittens and kept them safe the best she could. Now that her babies no longer need her, it’s finally Brit’s turn to be cared for, loved, and given the safe home she has never truly known.
Life outside taught Callie to be cautious, so she can be shy at first and will need patience and understanding as she adjusts to her new home and surroundings. Beneath that timid exterior is a sweet cat who simply wants a quiet place to rest, feel secure, and never have to worry again.
We recommend a home with children over the age of 5 who can respect her space while she settles in. Callie has never lived with dogs before, so any introductions to canine companions will need to be done slowly and properly.
After spending her life taking care of everyone else, Callie is hoping someone will finally choose her. She’s ready for her last stop — a forever home filled with kindness, comfort, and love. If you are interested in adopting Brit or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, they are open M-F from 10am-4pm. Adoption fee is $50
