Meet Emmy!
Emmy is a stunning girl with a quiet spirit and a story of resilience. Once part of a home, she was heartbreakingly abandoned and left to survive on the streets--forced to fend for herself, searching for food, safety, and a place to belong.
Because of her past, Emmy is understandably cautious with people. She lives by a gentle boundary: if you don't touch her, she won't touch you. She's not looking to be handled or cuddled, but she finds comfort in simply sharing space in a calm, predictable environment.
What Emmy does love is the simple beauty of everyday life. She adores the companionship of other cats and truly thrives with feline friends by her side. A cozy window seat is her happy place--where she can bird watch, soak up the sunshine, and feel the breeze drift in.
Emmy would do best in a quiet home with other friendly cats and a patient adopter who understands that love can be quiet and respectful. She may never be a lap cat, but her peaceful presence and gentle soul bring a special kind of companionship.
If you can offer Emmy a safe space and accept her just as she is, she will reward you with a calm, beautiful presence in your home. This cat is waiting for it's Forever Home!

Select cats can be fostered instead! Apply on our website.
A cat's behavior in the shelter may not be what it will be like in your home; if the cat is nervous, anxious, or agitated, please know that a shelter is a very stressful place for a cat. Most often, in a home, they thrive!
Kitten Policy: Kittens must be able to socialize with other young cats or dogs as playmates, as it is important for their development. Therefore, CT Cat Connection has a policy that kittens and teenagers up to 12 months of age are adopted in pairs unless there is another animal in the household as a playmate and companion.
Due to demand, we do not place cats or kittens on hold. Your visit to the shelter is to meet all cats or kittens available for adoption at the time of visit.
If you or anyone you know is interested in helping the shelter, we are always looking for foster families of our cats and dogs, as well as in-person volunteers, to assist with animal care. Fill out an application, which can be found at https://www.ctcatconnection.org/get-involved/
