Domestic Long Hair Cats Available for Adoption

Say hello to the cutest boy around! This is Big Mikey and he is an absolutely wonderful boy! This sweetie has an estimated birthdate of 12/18/16, so he's about 9 years old. Big Mikey was was brought to us through no fault of his own, but has been moved from place to place recently and he is more than ready for his permanent, and loving forever home. Mikey initially came to us 4 months ago after his owner passed away, but he was quickly scooped up and adopted before he was even listed on our website. His new family absolutely adored him and quickly fell in love with him, but they recognized that their kids were a little more than he could handle. The children from his previous family were great kids and did nothing wrong, but the activity and sounds associated with the kids was frightening for Mikey, so he ended up hiding the majority of the time. Mikey really is a super social guy, but he's going to be better off in a more quiet, laid back environment than he is going to be in a busy, active home. He would be an ideal companion for a single person, or for a family of empty nesters. Mikey really does have one of the sweetest personalities around and he will melt your heart! This little charmer cannot get enough love and attention. He absolutely loves people and follows the staff and volunteers around the cat room. He loves face scratches and pets, and of course we oblige because who could resist that adorable face? To add to his cuteness, this good looking fellow is also rocking a cute little bunny-like bobtail. Sadly his bobtail is the result of a previous injury, but you would never know it and it doesn't bother him at all. Big Mikey has met other kitties since being at the shelter and he gets along great with them. He had a kitty companion in his previous homes and it's reported that he did great with them as well, so he would do fine in a home with other kitties, or even in a home where he's the solo kitty. He would likely do fine with a nice, laid back, cat-friendly dog as well. Big Mikey would be fine in a home with older kids as well, just not with kids younger than 12-13. Our adoption fee is $100.00 for kittens up to 6 months of age and $80 for cats 7 months and older. It includes: a microchip, spay or neuter, set of shots, de-worming, and a 1-year rabies vaccine (if old enough). Fees can be made by cash or credit card.
