Senior Spotlight: Squishy
Right now, 11 year old Squishy is still trying to understand shelter life. She doesn’t quite realize yet that the people walking through the doors might be her chance at a new family. If only she could find the courage to step out, explore the room, and greet visitors like some of the other cats… maybe someone would notice her
She’s trying…
Squishy arrived with her sisters, Itty Bitty (12) and Lilly (11), who have started to adjust a little faster. Squishy is still working up her confidence. At first glance she may seem shy, quietly watching from her safe little spot. But the moment someone shows her kindness, her gratitude shines through.
Yesterday we placed a soft blanket on the floor in the corner for her (where she laid), and the joy on her face said everything. Something as simple as not having to sleep on the bare floor meant the world to her
This sweet girl is incredibly gentle. She hasn’t hissed at a single cat. Not one swat. She’s calm, peaceful, and completely unbothered by the other residents around her. Even the movement of a friendly, calm dog doesn’t faze her. Squishy would do just fine in a home with other respectful pets.
But the truth is… a shelter is no place for a senior cat to spend her days.
The sooner Squishy can leave this confusing environment behind, the sooner she can relax, decompress, and become the loving companion we know she is.
In the right home, this fluffy little lady will bloom again.
Senior Cat Adoption Fee: $75
