Wilma showed up at a home where there is a feral colony of cats. She was chasing the other cats away from the food, so the owner of the home took her in. He said he couldn't keep her. I found her a home.
Wilma turned out to be very sweet and gentle. Then owner fell in love with her. He said he wanted to keep her, so I told the prospective adopter that Wilma was no longer up for adoption.
THEN, Wilma tested positive for FIV and suddenly the owner didn't want her anymore, nor did his son, who was fostering her. Unbelievable. And, not cool. And by then, the prospective adopter had already adopted another cat.
So, Wilma needs a home where she will be not only loved but accepted. She has done nothing wrong. She was pretty obviously dumped, then tried to fight for her food in a colony of cats, then was taken in and loved, until she was deemed "broken" because of her health status.
