This handsome 8-month-old boy is Ludvic! He arrived at the Franklin Township Animal Shelter with his sister Eva (also available for adoption) and the two of them share a kitty condo. Ludvic enjoys spending time with people and will approach you as soon as you open his cat condo door, looking to roam around the room. He has a quiet demeanor, likes to be petted, but is not a fan of being held. He’d make a nice companion in a home with older children.
It’s important for any potential adopter to know that Ludvic has tested positive for feline coronavirus. Feline coronavirus (FCoV) is a common virus in cats, usually causing no symptoms or mild symptoms like diarrhea (which he currently does not have), but it can mutate into a deadly form called Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). Most cats clear the infection, but some become persistent carriers, shedding the virus and potentially increasing the risk of FIP in multi-cat environments.
For this reason, Ludvic should be the only cat in the household unless you already have a cat who tested positive for FCoV. Right now he is asymptomatic and ready to be adopted. We’re hoping that there’s someone out there who is willing to give Ludvic a loving forever home. The shelter is open for adoptions Tuesday-Friday 12-3 and Saturdays 12-6.
