This pretty 8-month-old sweetheart is Eva! She arrived at the Franklin Township Animal Shelter with her brother Ludvic (also available for adoption). Eva enjoys spending time with people and will approach you as soon as you open her cat condo door. She has a gentle demeanor, likes to be petted, and is getting used to being held by staff and volunteers. She’d make a lovely companion in a home with children of any age.
It’s important for any potential adopter to know that Eva has tested positive for feline coronavirus. Feline coronavirus (FCoV) is a common virus in cats, usually causing no symptoms or mild symptoms like diarrhea (which she currently does not have), but it can mutate into a deadly form called Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). Most cats clear the infection, but some become persistent carriers, shedding the virus and potentially increasing the risk of FIP in multi-cat environments.
For this reason, Eva should be the only cat in the household unless you already have a cat who tested positive for FCoV. Right now she is asymptomatic and ready to be adopted. We’re hoping that there’s someone out there who is willing to give Eva a loving forever home. The shelter is open for adoptions Tuesday-Friday 12-3 and Saturdays 12-6.
