Penelope is a big kitty heart in a tiny, delicate package! Shes equal parts adorable sweetheart and apex-predator in training. She loves watching birds, squirrels, and lizards through the window, swishing her tail and chittering away. Its so much fun to watch her!

At about six months old, she's developing her adult personality which is as charming and sweet as when she first arrived at her foster home at about seven weeks old.
Penelope enjoys her foster home with three other cats, a dog, and three adult humans, but what she would love is a home and a family to call her own forever. She's a beautiful, dainty gray and orange tortoiseshell with some little splotches of cream. Her tail seems to go on for miles and is highly expressive. She often trots around the house with it up like a question mark. She also has an adorable habit of reaching out a paw when she wants your attention. Mostly she does this to ask you to hurry up with her dinner but any time she wants something you have, she'll do it.
Her coat is very fine and smooth and doesn't seem to shed much (particularly compared to the other three cats in the house). She is fantastic with nail trimming - just pick her up and trim. No need to burrito this little lady! Penelope is quiet and affectionate. She'll curl up in your lap, but doesn't demand pets.
She just wants to be close. Like her brother and sister, she is a purr and biscuit making machine. She wants to make sure you feel how much youre loved.
Aside from her humans, Penelope loves other animals. She was the first of her siblings to befriend her foster family's resident dog (eight year old female, about 50 pounds).
She even curls up on the couch with her, although, to be honest, the dog isn't such a big fan of that! Wisely, the resident dog has a healthy respect for the unpredictable behavior of cats. Penelope also gets along beautifully with the resident cat (a six year old male weighing around 19 pounds), and her BFF is her sister and litter mate, Olivia.
Penelope is very curious and highly observant. She follows her foster mom around the house, supervising cleaning, laundry, DIY projects, and cooking activities. When she's not busy supervising, Penelope is typically either watching wildlife through the window or sprawled out on a chair; in the cat tree; or in the dog bed, taking a nap.
She also loves to play. Hunting is her favorite game. Like her siblings, strings, crinkled up paper, boxes, and those little mice toys are always fun.
Penelope has mastered the perfect balance between playful energy and soft, melt-into-your-arms affection. She's pretty quick to adapt to new surroundings (within a couple days). Mostly quietly sitting in the same room with her and giving her the chance to check you out first is the key. Although she doesn't live with kids, she has been tested with three kids all at once (ages 7, 10, and 13) and did great. Her ideal home would probably include at least one other pet and a human (or two) who will provide her with some love each day.
Of all the fosters we've had, Penelope is probably the lowest drama. She just wants to be in your space and in your heart. She is such a sweetheart! Is she a perfect match for you?

Our cats are brought to you in style by a beautiful private bus, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24-hour care. Pick-up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private Facebook Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick-up location to you!
The adoption fee is $600. and includes all vetting: FVRCP vaccines (minimum of 2 but could be more depending on age and time in the program), FeLV vaccines, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, combo tested, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a health certificate deeming the kitty healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship!
