Ricky was a sweet gentle little boy with the sweetest little face (he has a true British Shorthair facial features and body shape,) This little guy was living in the Ohio State Football Stadium, hiding inside somewhere and only coming out to look for food it he dark of the night. When we heard about him (and his friend Luke) we knew we had to help. It only took a day to trap the poor hungry boy. He was afraid and was hissing when we took him to his foster home.
Within a day, he was gently kneading when petted, purring and looking up with so much gratitude just to be inside out of the snow and icy wind. Each day he got sweeter and seemed to get more and more comfortable. Soon he was standing up and giving a little peep of welcome each time a person from the foster home walked into his room.
And then we got the news that we didn't want to hear: Ricky was FIV+
Even though studies have shown that cats with FIV+ can live a happy normal life that is as long as the average cat (with proper care and follow up for any issues that arise before they become serious) and that FIV+ cats can live very happily with non-FIV+ cats so long as they cats live peacefully together (FIV is passed primarily through bite wounds and does not spread through shared litterboxes food or households)
Every day this little guy got sweeter and more happy to see the fosters come into his room. He is an adorable kitty but is living a cage (our foster homes are overflowing). He deserves better, This guy is so special...we need to help him find his forever home and family soon. He does not deserve to spend his life ina cage. He was to to watch television, sit int eh bathroom with you while you shower, wait for you to go to be so he can be with you...that is what he dreams of.
He is a sweet boy. He has not been around dogs, but he is a sweetheart to other cats. He is gentle and lays with them, rubs on them and is the all-around best friend for other friendly cats. He jumps up from his bed when people walk into the room...hoping that someone will see him and pick him to be theirs. But so far no one has.
