Huckleberry is a friendly young Bombay mix, about 8-9 months old. Huckleberry is among the many cats who were rescued off the street this winter as frightened, hungry, abandoned strays after their so-called families discarded them outside to fend for themselves in single-digit temperature. A kind neighbor helped us get him off the street, and he went to the veterinarian the at the very next opportunity. True to his ancestry, Huckleberry has a sleek, muscular, Panther-like body. and the round head associated with Bombays. Most importantly, he is very social to people-- also a Bombay trait. He loves treats, playing, being pet, and generally interacting with his foster mom. We haven’t seen him around other cats, dogs or children yet, but we think a friendly boy like this would probably do well with all of the above given a proper introduction We can give you pointers on that. Huckleberry would do best in an interactive home where he isn’t left alone for long hours. Huckleberry seems to be an easy cat, suitable for a first-time adopter, willing to give him the time and attention a social boy like him needs.
He has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and treated for worms and fleas. His adopter will receive his medical records. He’s being fostered in Cambridge. Adoptions are facilitated by video meet-and-greets, as well as in-person visits. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee, which helps us continue rescuing cats in need. In Huckleberry's case, it's a mere $265-- a bargain for a new best friend who will love you for the rest of his life. Cats can live up to 20 years, so please consider whether you can commit to providing a safe, loving home for life before adopting. Please email Safercats11@gmail.com with your phone number and a little about yourself and the home you would provide. Doing so helps rescuers match cats with the right adopters.
